Therapy for life chapters that feel less like a smooth transition and more like a plot twist.
Life transitions sound great on paper, but navigating them in the real world can feel incredibly bumpy, exhausting, and overwhelming. Whether you're facing a massive change in schedule, shift in identity, or just trying to find your footing-it's easy to feel like you're losing your grip on your overall well-being. When we experience change, sometimes our go-to coping strategies don't work the same. It can be difficult to notice and realize the stress of "holding it together" or "being the rock" for others can be mentally and physically draining. When this happens, you don’t need a lecture. You need a space where YOU are the boss. Together, we’ll cut through the noise and design practical tools that actually fit real life.
If you’re expecting something sterile, boring, or even intimidating, you’ll probably be surprised by the coziness of my office. When you come into this office, things you can expect are: candor, humor, and the occasional hard truth served with empathy—not a lecture in disguise.
Meet Sarah
I’m Sarah Edelman-Dolan, LCSW, LSCSW, and I have been in the education and social services fields for the last 15+ years.
I graduated from Emporia State University (ESU) with my B.A. in Psychology in December of 2010. Following that, I moved to Oregon for almost 4 years; during this time, I gained experience working as a job coach for people with developmental disabilities. I had the opportunity to meet some incredible people, and I was able to put a lot of what I’d learned in school into practice in the real world. I moved back to the Midwest (Kansas, then Missouri) in 2014, where I worked in the education field for several years prior to making the decision to go back to school. I graduated from the University of Kansas (KU) in May of 2019 and have been providing therapy services since then. Over the last 7 school years, I worked as a School-Based Therapist, first with one community mental health agency, then another. Partnering with schools to provide therapy for those who might not otherwise be able to receive services was an incredible journey!
Starting in the Summer of 2026, I made the decision to switch things up a little and move from working a full time job in community mental health and a part time job in private practice to being in the office full time for private practice!
I have experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, abuse, neglect, attachment, grief, self-esteem, stress, and PTSD. I integrate components from CBT, DBT, EMDR, DDP, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy to assist with healing and processing through struggles. I use expressive arts, including art, music, and movement, when appropriate.
